Worthing Win Ryder Cup

Worthing won the Ryder Cup on home turf on Friday 23rd June

A close fought day ended 9.5points to 8.5 points.  Conditions were excellent, with a growing breeze developing as the day went on…Course was in good condition.

The two Captains shook on it and Gibby celebrated the win in the clubhouse with the cup, before losing it….It ended up behind the bar in the Egremont…But thats another story..

Worthing have held the trophy since 2011, and the overall trophy score is now 12-10 to Worthing.  Have a look at the records for previous winners here

Pitts ignores own advice and wins Cowdray

At a time when everyone has the Ryder Cup in the forefront of their minds, Pitts decided to put the pedal to the metal and storm to a four point victory at Cowdray, scoring 43 points, with his nearest rival Micky J coming in 2nd with 39 points..Well done Pitts!

The Merit table features these two characters as well at the top cuurently with Micky J on 116 pointa and  Pitts on 115..

 

Makes for an exciting Ryder Cup on 23rd June!

Derek Digs Deep and Delivers at West Surrey

Derek Steel delivered the goods at West Surrey with a magnificent 40 points..

Cheesy was chasing with 39 and Lord and Pitts took the 3/4th spot with 38 points.  A hard lesson learned for new boy Sam Ashby coming in also with 38 points, and also GeeGee with 37 points..,..cut, no prize…  Welcome to TAGS!.

Matchplay Pairs drawn.

The 2017 Matchplay Pairs were drawn today in front of a live audience at Pyecombe G.C.

16 pairs are now divided into 4 grouos with each pair in each group playing against each other as part of the group stages.  The top two  of each group will go forward to the semi final stages.
