Now officially known as Rainman…Our Captain Cheesy came through a tough challenge on Friday at Worthing (Ham Manor clubhouse looks nice though?…) to be crowned Merit Winner for 2015..!

As the last day is all about the final merit positions, the draw can be prepared in advance, to ensure the leaders all go out last.

The top half of the Merit table will start on the Upper and conclude on the Lower in the PM, the lesser placed of us will start on the Lower and progress to the Upper in the PM!..

We have 42 playing on Friday and the draw is here..

Please make sure you check this regularly in case anyone drops out..as you may well move if that happens..

Following his unexpected retirement at Singing Hills last month, Tony Harvey has pulled out of the Final Countdown next Friday and the Final of the Matchplay is also now in doubt..

Always a stickler for the rules and of course..tough love…we now await to see of there is something in the rules of the coveted Matchplay Competition that allows Harvs to challenge the Colonel for the 2015 Trophy, after the Final Countdown… All the latest updates here….

Our Captain Cheesy had the embarrassing scenario at Blackmoor of his Vice Captain presenting the winner of the Merit…

Due to an enormous 44 points on a great course, he takes the green jacket despite having to wait until the last group out…

Worthing scrape a draw to retain Ryder Cup

On home turf, Worthing Members needed Dirk to hole a 12ft putt on the 18th to level the tie at 9-9 and retain the Ryder Cup.

An excellent day with fantastic conditions, and great spirits saw the teams battle hard and after the first round the scores were…level at 3-3..

Well done to Worthing and to all that took part, and to those who joined the teams, helped and heckled on the day at Worthing
