TAGS TEAM CHALLENGE 2023
After a break of this annual competition in the TAGS diary, the committee have reviewed the traditional TAGS Team Challenge Competition, and following feedback from members and consultation at the last AGM the decision has been made to have a Tags Team Challenge Competition in 2023.
The format will be a little different to previous years, but the key to being selected to play is still based upon your Merit table position at the end of this year. This recognises members contribution to golf days and performance throughout the year.
Two teams will play for the TAGS Team Trophy – captained by the 2023 Captain, and his Vice Captain (to be revealed on 12th November at the end of season dinner!). The date of the event will be published as part of the 2023 fixture list and the location will be chosen by the Society Captain.
There will be 24 places. The top 22 in the Merit table will be split by position of odds or evens and the Captains will toss a coin to decide who selects which group. If the Captains are in the top 22, then the 23rd and/or 24th places will qualify. The format will be an 18 hole, four ball better ball Matchplay competition and it will be followed by a curry in the evening. Further details will be sorted nearer to the event..
