Friendly Rivalry? Peter Higson and Penry Price couldn’t have quite imagined how the introduction of this competition would change the society. It is a firm favourite with all of those who have participated in it, with each past player striving to play the following year.

The basic competition is a day of match play (Foursomes AM and Singles PM) between two teams of 12, Worthing and The Ragamuffins. The Worthing team is made up of society members who are also members of Worthing Golf Club, whilst the Ragamuffins are all other society members. To qualify for this competition a player must finish in the top ten of the Merit Table for his allegiance. The captain of each team then selects two wild cards to complete his team of 10.
